I bought this seat because the original Yamaha MT-09 seat, for my taste, has not enough padding for longer tours. With this Shad comfort seat you have to be aware, that you have to use parts of the original Yamaha seat for it to work.
I think the workmanship of the Shad seat is really good. You can clearly see the thicker padding that was used. Here are some close ups and comparison pictures to the original Yamaha seat:
Before you can put the Shad seat on your Yamaha MT-09, you have to mount the original metal hooks and rubber buffers on the seat. The rubber buffers are gently levered out out their sockets to not break anything and the metal hooks are unscrewed from the Yamaha seat. The Yamaha tools which are mounted to the original Yamaha seat can also be mounted to the Shad seat.
Note: If you don't want to use the Shad leather strip like I did, remember to put some washers under the metal hooks. This will make the seat go easier on and off the motorcycle.
After over 1000km of riding I'm very pleased with the Shad comfort seat. The padding is much more pleasant for longer tours than the original Yamaha one. Concluding here are some comparison shots:
